What is a Fake Address Generator?

A fake address generator creates realistic-looking postal addresses that follow the formatting rules of a specific country, but refer to no real person or location. The street names, city names, postal codes, and regions are all plausible but entirely fictional — safe to use in development, testing, prototypes, and demos without exposing any real individual's data.

Example United States addresses

Here are sample addresses this generator produces for United States, formatted with street, then city, state and ZIP code on one line (all fictional):

3060 Forest Ln
Fresno, CA 93720
United States
4087 9th Ave, Suite 315
Adams Basin, NY 14410
United States
7368 Jackson St
Tolono, IL 61880
United States

What's included in each generated address?

  • Street address — building number and street name, formatted for United States
  • Secondary address — apartment, suite, or unit number where applicable
  • City — a realistic United States city name
  • state — the regional division used in United States
  • Postal code — correctly formatted for United States
  • Country — United States
  • Latitude & Longitude — random geographic coordinates
  • Formatted address — a ready-to-paste block in United States's postal convention

How are United States addresses formatted?

Every country has its own postal convention. United States addresses are written with street, then city, state and ZIP code on one line, and the regional division is called a state. Using the wrong format in a form or database test can mask validation bugs — this tool generates United States addresses in the proper local format so your tests catch real issues.

Common use cases

  • Form testing — verify address fields accept valid United States input and apply correct validation rules
  • Database seeding — populate development databases with realistic United States address data
  • UI mockups — show realistic addresses in design prototypes and screenshots
  • Localization testing — test how your app handles United States address formats and character sets
  • Demo accounts — create sample user accounts without using anyone's real address
  • E-commerce testing — test checkout flows, shipping calculators, and address validation
  • Privacy compliance — use fake addresses in test data instead of real customer records

Fake postal code, region and address line

Each generated address is also split into separate fields with their own copy buttons: street address, unit or suite when there is one, city, state or region, postal or ZIP code, and country. That helps when a form asks for one value at a time, such as "Address line 1", "Country/Region" or "Postal code": pick the country above, generate, and copy only the field you need. For most countries the values are random, so a fake postal code follows the country's format but is not matched to the city. For the United States, Mexico and Turkey the city, region and postal code are real and match.

Export a fake address as JSON

Use "Copy JSON" or "Download JSON" under the generated address to get every field as structured data, ready for a test fixture, seed script or API request. Need many rows, or CSV or SQL instead? The fake data generator on this site builds up to 1,000 rows with address columns and exports them as CSV, JSON or SQL.

Is this data private?

Yes. All addresses are generated entirely in your browser using the Faker.js library — no data is sent to any server and nothing is stored. Closing or refreshing the page discards all generated addresses instantly.

Want auto-fill instead of copy-paste?

The FormFiller browser extension fills address fields in your forms automatically with one click — no copying and pasting needed. It detects address field types intelligently and fills street, city, state, postal code, and country in milliseconds.

Frequently asked questions

Are these real, deliverable addresses?

No. Street numbers, street names, and postal codes are randomly generated and formatted to look plausible for the chosen country, but they do not correspond to real buildings and mail sent to them will not be delivered.

Which countries are supported?

22 locales, each with country-correct formatting: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Russia, Turkey, Japan, China, South Korea, India, Canada, Mexico, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Nigeria.

Can I use a generated address to register for a real service?

You can, but you shouldn't rely on it being deliverable — it is meant for filling forms during development and testing, not for actually receiving mail or packages.

Why does the address format change by country?

Every country has its own postal convention — where the postal code sits relative to the city, what the regional division is called, and how many lines the address takes. This tool reproduces those local formats so form and validation testing catches real formatting bugs.
